{"id":7637,"date":"2026-03-28T08:12:20","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T07:12:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/posthumusinstitute.org\/?p=7637"},"modified":"2026-03-28T08:12:20","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T07:12:20","slug":"cfp-jhes-special-issue-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/posthumusinstitute.leidenuniv.nl\/?p=7637","title":{"rendered":"Call for papers 2026 Special Issue Journal for the History of Environment and Society &#8211; deadline 31 August 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The editorial board of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brepols.net\/series\/jhes\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Journal for the History of Environment and Society (JHES)<\/em><\/a>, among whom a large number of Posthumus fellows, invites submissions for its 2026 Special Issue, dedicated to exploring the role of the Low Countries as both a place and an actor in global environmental history.<\/p>\n<p>Welcomed are contributions that illuminate how local environments, knowledge, institutions, ecologies, and material flows in the Low Countries were shaped by \u2014 and in turn shaped \u2014 distant environments around the globe. Inspired by the concept of the glocal, we encourage articles that reveal how local and global scales were continuously intertwined.<\/p>\n<p>Papers should be in English and have a length of 8,000\u201310,000 words and will be double-blind peer reviewed.
