The N.W. Posthumus Institute (NWP) is the Research School for Economic and Social History in the Netherlands and Flanders. The institute is named after Nicolaas Wilhelmus Posthumus (1880-1960), the first professor in economic and social history in the Netherlands.
At this moment, fifteen universities and research institutes cooperate in the Posthumus Institute. As of July 1st, 2021, the Department of History & Art History of Utrecht University will host the administrative office of the N.W. Posthumus Institute.
